Our Heritage — Pietra Dura

One of the defining pillars of SK Cottage Industries is our mastery of Pietra Dura, also known in India as Pacchikari Inlay Work. This intricate craft was perfected during the Mughal era in the 16th and 17th centuries and famously used to adorn the Taj Mahal with semi-precious stone inlays. At M/S S K COTTAGE INDUSTRIES , we proudly carry forward this centuries-old tradition using the same techniques and precision. Each stone is hand-cut and polished. Stones like malachite, lapis lazuli, carnelian, jasper, turquoise, and mother of pearl are used, keeping this timeless art alive for modern audiences worldwide.
